Hollowcone Nozzle Description
The Hollowcone consists of an orifice plate with a swirl core postioned in front, the two forming an intermediate swirl chamber. Liquid passes through the helical slots in the swirl core, and into the swirl chamber where the liquid acquires a high rotational velocity, discharging from the orifice in a hollow cone spray form. Rated at 3 bar pressure, these nozzles produce a bimodal distribution. The swirl core is a push-fit into the orifice plate and becomes captive. It is easily removed with a key.
Features
- Precision moulded in polyacetal, a highly stable polymeric material with outstanding wear characteristics
- High level of quality control throughout manufacturing process ensures consistent compliance with specification
- Colour coded (in accordance with ISO/DIS 10625) for quick identification of flow rate
- Compatible with most standard nozzle caps
- BCPC (British Crop Protection Council) coded to assist with correct nozzle selection
- Captive core for installation convenience, easily removed with key
Applications
This nozzle is widely used with knapsack sprayers. The fine droplets produced at 3 bar pressure make these nozzles well suited for foliar application of insecticides and fungicides. These nozzles are also used with air-assisted sprayers for treating bush and fruit tree crops. Hollowcone nozzles can be used to spray from above or below the foliage or for overall applications.
