TwinFan Low Drift Nozzles

Twin fan nozzles give two spray fans - one forward and the other backward. This treats both sides of the plant and greatly improves deposition providing better disease control and yield response.

The design of the Low Drift Twin Fan allows an intermediate pressure drop. The droplets formed at standard pressures are therefore coarser. Coarser droplets lessen the number of drift prone droplets below 103µ, therefore reducing the amount of pesticide sprayed to non-target areas.

The TF-LD nozzle is a derivative of the Enviroguard series which has proved extremely popular world wide for many years.

This twin fan nozzle can be used for fungicide applications for potato blight and cereals etc

Twin fans provide good coverage, improved penetration and spray deposition

Provides smaller droplets at higher volumes

Three piece construction providing a removable pre-orifice to facilitate cleaning

Polyacetal construction for chemical stability and excellent wear characteristics

Does not require a double cap-this nozzle fits into existing caps

ISO colours

Spray drift comprises small, wind borne droplets of pesticide carried away from the intended target area and into the environment. Research has shown that spray drift accounts for up to 20% of pesticides being released into the environment and these pesticides are contained in droplets less than 100µm in diameter.

Helps reduce environmental impact by reducing the percentage volume of driftable droplets, minimising off-target spray contamination.

Precision moulded in polyacetal, a highly stable polymeric material with wear characteristics unrivalled by traditional materials

High level of quality control throught the manufacturing process ensures consistent compliance with specification

Colour coded (in accordance with ISO/DIS 10625) for quick indentification of flow rate

Description
The design comprises a conventional flat fan discharge orifice with the addition of a primary orifice inserted in front to provide an intermediate pressure drop. This results in the formation of coarser spray droplets at standard spray pressures, thus reducing the percentrage of drift prone droplets below 103µm, therefore reducing the percentage of pesticide available for transmission to non target areas. Rated at 3 bar presure, and in two spray angles of 80° and 110°, these nozzles produce a narrow elliptical spray pattern. Individually they produce a triangular (normal) shaped distribution but boom mounted at 0.5m spacing provides 50% overlap to give an overall even distribution. A key is provided to enable the primary orifice to be removed for cleaning.

Applications
The Enviroguard® nozzles are used for broadcast application of pre and post emergent herbicides.

Installation
To ensure uniform target coverage the boom height must be correctly adjusted in relation to the target and for the nozzle spacing used on the boom. The figures shown below will provide a 50% overlap ensuring an overall even distribution. Note that the height is measured from the nozzle to the target whether it be soil or vegetation. Always take into account the height of the vegetation. Ideally the nozzles should be offset by approximately 5°. Check for evenness of spray distribution at target level under the boom. This is best achieved by spraying out water onto dry concrete and watching it dry out. If it tends to dry in stripes, then this indicates that the boom is possibly too low. Adjust boom height slightly above rather than below the figures states, since under field conditions, boom bounce can dramatically alter the nozzle height. However, it is wise to avoid excessive boom heights since this will increase potential spray drift.
